Precision Fabrication

American Photonics' Bradenton, Florida facility was built in 2000 with extreme precision and production in mind. The plant houses the latest in CNC optical grinding and CNC optical polishing equipment. Whether it is flats, spherical curves, or aspheres you require, APC can produce them in prototype or production volumes to meet any demand.

APC's grinding department is capable of shaping parts to any customer specification, and can provide generated blanks on zinc selenide (ZnSe), multispectral zinc sulfide (ZnS MS), germanium (Ge), silicon (Si), and gallium arsenide (GaAs). Round, square and rectangles are precision shaped and are available from any material at any quantity.

APC's polishing department incorporates high volume CNC methods for both spherical curves and double sided flats, and also conventional polishing spindles for low volume and special sizes. The surface and optical quality produced by this department regularly exceed industry standards. Coupled with the high quality THIN FILM COATIGNS, APC can produce finished infrared optics to most customer specifications.

  • Thickness: 0.5mm to 50mm
  • Angles: down to 5 arc seconds
